Obituary

Steven Olen Gillespie I, age 66, passed away on May 3, 2019 at his home in Brookfield, Missouri. He
was the husband of Sherry Epperly Gillespie. They were married in Brookfield, Mo. on June 2, 1970.
They shared 49 years of marriage together.

Born in Brookfield, Mo, on December 3, 1952, He was the son of Lucille (Shatto) and Harry Gillespie of
Brookfield Mo. Steven was enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 19 and retired from the
military at the age of 41. He also held positions at Brown Shoe Company, Walsworth, and Walmart.
Steven also graduated from The Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Az. as a Harley Davidson
Technician.

Steven is survived by his wife, Sherry, of the home, three sons, Steven II (Wilma) and their children,
Steven III, Sebastian, and Shay of Brookfield. Scott (Patricia) and their children, Britnee, Jeremiah, and
Jazmin of Bucklin. Sean (Veronica) of Magnolia, Tx. One daughter, Sarena (Russell) and their children,
Faith, Tristin, Danielle, Rebecca, and Savannah of Bucklin. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol
Darnold of Jefferson City, Mo. and Harriette Ferris of Temecula, Ca., one step brother, Wayne Shatto of
Missouri, one step sister, Sharon Ellis of Macon, mo. their spouses and children, Several nieces,
nephews, etc.

Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Shatto, his father, Harry Gillespie, his brother, Larry
Gillespie, step father, Elmer Shatto, step brother, Danny Shatto, his grandparents and other beloved
relatives.

Steven enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, motorcycling, gardening, and playing guitar. He
was also an avid coin collector and music.

A Celebration of Life is planned for May 19th, 2019 at the Bucklin Community Center from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. The family will be providing Ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks. In lieu of flowers or donations the family request you bring your favorite covered dish.
